chinese ndfeb magnet
presence
While demand for neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets
stalled somewhat in the past year or so, all indications are
that growth rates of 10 to 20 percent per year will return
as world economies improve and consumers once again buy personal
computers and other electronic equipment and as new applications
for these magnets start to surface ¡ª especially
if producers could pare down manufacturing costs. The landscape
of the NdFeB market, however, has continued to change with
the ever increasing presence of Chinese producers in not just
sintered magnets, but bonded magnets as well. This will only
accelerate as the patents for producing these magnets expire
during the next several years.
